Great customer service. It was my first time buying a car and they made the process super easy without any pressure. The price of the car was an excellent deal for how little miles it had on it. Check their website before shopping, they have deals on their website that don't match the sticker price, but they honor those prices online. They have a great location, nice comfortable seating. Big selection of cars and everyone there was super nice and helpful. They really cared about what I wanted, they helped me find it.

The selection of cars was surprisingly large for such a modestly size building. But I knew the car I wanted. I found it on the internet, and saw it sitting out front when I pulled up. Everyone was helpful, and I was able to test drive it as long as I liked. I ended up buying it at slightly under the list price, but a few days later it had some issues. I brought it in, and they fixed the very minor problem almost immediately and at no charge. Great communication.

I was apprehensive about them because the dealership located here used to be under different ownership. It used to be a very high ranking Dodge dealership. However I was determined to get a Dodge Durango and this is the location of my last purchase so I went ahead with the purchase there. They were unbelievably excellent. I needed the car for a road trip that weekend so they went ahead and rushed the prep so I could use the vehicle and then I brought it back for the full after-sale prep work (cleaning, and all that) They did all this and gave me a free loaner car to use while they did this. I met with the manager of the detail department at the time and he told me I could bring the vehicle back anytime for a showroom detail for a fraction of what I had been paying another company. He ... (more)

We went to Leith Toyota because we had heard good things about it. We didn't like the Toyota dealership that is nearest to us, so we drove into Raleigh to go to this one instead. When we got there, the salesman was able to help us find a price that we could afford for the car that we wanted.

The sales people are wonderful and easy to work with, they made buying my first car a real breeze. They were so great to me that I recommended my friend go there. After he bought his car I got a $150 referral bonus! I recommend all of my friends go there.

The sales staff at Deacon Jones has been the most helpful sales staff I have come across at a car dealership. I was able to call ahead of time and give them my information, let them know what vehicles I was interested in and how much I was willing to pay. When I showed up at the dealership they had 3 vehicles lined up for me to look at, I was also approved for a loan, and all I had to do was test drive the vehicles to pick out the one I wanted.

There are still one way streets in downtown, so be careful.

Capital Boulevard North (away from downtown) has a wide selection of dealerships. You can find anything in this one five mile stretch.

When I was in college, I was dating someone who worked for a local landscape architect. He would get to see what city planners were planning on doing in the city because his company had a contract to work on the landscaping. Raleigh was pretty small and inclusive then, with few major roads to go fro ... (more)

South Saunders Street into downtown - South Saunders St. Comes into downtown Raleigh from the south part of the state, and it is geographically lower than downtown. So as you come in from the south, the downtown skyline is above you, and you can see the skyscrapers and the road ahead of you. Sometimes I have seen it right before a summe ... (more)

Be prepared to drive defensively! It's not the city for "Sunday drivers". If you come to Raleigh and putter along, you'll find yourself getting rear-ended. Also, do NOT trust the "friendly" wave. That's when traffic is stopped and they tell you to come on out and turn left. I've gotten hit twice fro ... (more)

I went to the Honda dealership because I buy Hondas. I would suggest they do that! I am not the type to buy a car off craigslist, so I can't suggest that. Capital Blvd and Glenwood Avenue have tons of auto dealerships.
Favorite Driving Memory
My favorite driving memory is not necessarily a good one but definitely memorable! I went to a luncheon in Cary, which is the neighboring city to Raleigh. During lunch it began to snow. We quickly finished lunch, as it was really coming down. The bad thing was that it began to freeze on the roads ... (more)

Capital Blvd as you head into Downtown - Because the view of the Raleigh skyline is just lovely. As you head down Capital Blvd, the road turns slightly and you are in this really charming downtown area with museums, churches, and cool bars.

Raleigh, NC Driving Tips
Our roads are quite adequate for keeping congestion at a minimum, yet during rush hours they quickly become parking lots. I would avoid Capital Blvd. And almost any part of interstate 40 which circles the city during the morning and afternoon rushes. On Saturday around 1:00 pm, crossroads and white ... (more)

Capital Blvd. Northeast of downtown and Wake Forest road both have many new car dealers, and route 401 just north of downtown have a great selection of used car dealers if you are looking for a bargain. Driving west along Western Blvd. Toward the University area, you pass Pullen Park on the right. After moving to this city 9 years ago, I was simply exploring the areas close to downtown and passed Pullen Park in late February, and was stunned to see so many trees in bloom. Old Stage road - Turning left off route 401 onto Old Stage Road just 2 or 3 miles south of the downtown limits of Raleigh, you see the extreme diversity of the area.
