My Jetta was the first manual vehicle I ever owned and I absolutely loved it. Although I had originally learned to drive manual on a different car my Jetta (Wolfsburg edition) is one of the easiest manual vehicles I have driven. I would recommend any first time manual drivers to buy a Jetta. The reason for this is that it is very forgiving, you could slow almost to a stop in second gear and still not stall out and be able to pick right up again, and for first time manual drivers this is a very good feature since figuring out when to shift and preventing stalling is the biggest tackle. It is also nice because you do not need to hold the clutch in in order to start the vehicle, which is really just added convenience. It shifts very smoothly and like I said before very forgiving if you do... (more)
Story
I really enjoyed taking this vehicle to our local camp out/ music festival in our town. The car was big enough to fit all of our camping gear including tents, coolers, cloths, fishing gear, etc.
Pros
The outer body of the car was well crafted and mostly metal and not fiber glass, although the bumpers were made of plastic which was disappointing. The trunk however was huge and could fit a variety of items, and the back seats could even be folded down to provide extra trunk/interior space. I used this car to move all of my belongings from home to college, and also used it to move everything into my new apartment including my fiancés belongings. So there is plenty of room in this vehicle. It seats up to 5 comfortably and has seat belts even for middle riders. The sound system also worked... (more)
Cons
The only real problem I had with this vehicle is that it was hard to do your own maintenance such as change the oil filter and some other interior engine parts. Since it is German manufactured the engine is very tightly nit together and has a lot of coverings and pieces that have to be removed in order to access some areas of the engine. There was also the need for more specific tools to take certain parts off. Because of these things I had to look pretty hard to find someone with experience on VW vehicles, that wouldn't charge as much as a dealership.

The performance is masterful.
Story
I love speeding down the winding roads, though the mountains, on my way to the beach
Pros
Speed and luxury are not lost on this vehicle.
Cons
My only fault is that I did not pick the turbo, for as much as I drive it I wish there was a little more power behind my lead foot.

This was my first brand new car after college graduation. I was initially drawn to its body...stylish and cute, the perfect car for a 22 year old! It was great on gas because of its smaller size. I love the sunroof and very spacious trunk. Eleven years and 156,000 miles later, we're still going strong! I've had to put a little bit of work into it, but it has been very dependable. There are airbags all over this car so I feel safe in it and I also feel very safe driving with my 6 year old child. The deep red color gives it some personality, too. The seats are molded to your body and are very comfortable to sit in, especially on long road trips. The Jetta is obviously a smaller model VW, but there is still plenty of leg room. The back seat can be tight if you try to fit three p... (more)
Story
I have a Nemo antenna bobber, so my son likes to say "lets go find Nemo" when we need to find my car in a crowded parking lot.
Pros
This car is great on gas... the mileage has obviously gone down some as the car got older, but compared to the larger car models and SUV's and vans driven by so many families these days, I feel like I rarely have to fill up! Very god looking body; I like the larger trunk and the antenna in the middle of the top of the back window. The Jetta feels very well made... everything seems very well put together and it's not going to easily fall apart or dent. Comfortable seats for driving long distances. Love the heated seats and sunroof! Great sound system. Airbags make me feel very safe. ... (more)
Cons
Within the first week of owning the car the fuel pump went out. It was under warranty of course, but made me think I was in for a long expensive life with this car. Luckily I didn't have any more major issues for quite some time. Even though the car gets good gas mileage, the tank is smaller so you end up filling up more frequently than with other cars. Recently began having problems with all the doors not locking, and you cannot lock the doors via keyless entry or with the master lock. Had to replace the entire instrument cluster a couple years ago and the local mechanic didn't know ... (more)
